ifempower was represented at the EIT Food EWA Final Pitch Competition – Portugal

The ifempower project was represented by SPI – Sociedade Portuguesa de Inovação, from Portugal, one of the ifempower project partners, at the EIT Food EWA – Empowering Women in Agrifood Final Pitch Competition (in Portugal), that took place online on December 2nd.

This event, organized by BGI – Building Global Innovators, hosted the Final Pitch Competition for 10 Portuguese start-ups, lead by women entrepreneurs, in the agrifood area, to present their business ideas and compete for the 1st prize – 10.000€ and 2nd prize – 5.000€ that was assigned by a reputable jury.

While the jury was gathered to decide who would be the winners, the event organized a roundtable to discuss the theme of “The Female Entrepreneurship in Portugal” where ifempower was introduced by Ana Fernandes, from SPI, also highlighting the current service that is being provided with the Support Points that aim to help with the creation and managing of new businesses by women entrepreneurs.

The event counted with the presence of around 50 participants, among which there were female entrepreneurs and several women representatives from big Portuguese companies that were interested in the discussion of the female entrepreneurship scenery in Portugal and in the innovative pitches that were presented.
